FAQs

What age are the adventure day camps for kids suitable for?

Our adventure day camps are open to children aged 8 to 13 years old. Children are grouped by age on arrival, so they spend the day with others of a similar age before returning home at the end of the day.

How much do the day camps for kids cost?

Our day camps for kids cost £80 per child per day. We accept childcare vouchers and Tax-Free Childcare, so be sure to check whether you are eligible before booking.

Can my child attend for multiple days?

Absolutely. Many families book multiple days across the holidays. Because the programme changes daily, children returning to our summer day camps enjoy fresh challenges, new friendships and growing confidence each time they visit.

Will my child have the same instructors throughout the day?

Yes. We believe the relationship between child and instructor is one of the most important parts of the experience. Your child will spend the whole day with the same instructors and group, which helps build trust, teamwork and confidence.

How many children are in each group?

Each group can have up to 12 children with two instructors for the whole day. This ratio ensures every child gets individual attention and nobody gets lost in the crowd.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We run in all weathers! Part of the adventure is experiencing the outdoors in its full glory. Some activities may be adjusted in extreme conditions, but the day will always go ahead with a full programme. Please dress your child appropriately for the forecast.

Is the day camp Ofsted registered?

Mill on the Brue operates to the highest childcare and safety standards. All our instructors are highly trained, qualified and DBS-checked. Please contact us directly if you need specific information about registration for childcare voucher purposes.

Where is Mill on the Brue?

We are located in Bruton, Somerset only 5 miles away from the Dorset and Wiltshire borders. We’re approximately one hour from Bath and Bristol, and around two hours from London. Full directions and a centre map are available on our website.

What should my child bring to the adventure day camp?

Children should bring a packed lunch, a snack and a refillable water bottle for the day. We also recommend comfortable outdoor clothing, suitable footwear and weather-appropriate layers, as our activities take place outdoors throughout the day. Full kit information will be provided before your child’s visit.

Can you accept childcare vouchers?

Yes. We accept childcare vouchers and Tax-Free Childcare for our adventure day camps. If you plan to use either payment method, please let us know when booking and our team will be happy to guide you through the process.
