Mill on the Brue were one of the winners at the inaugural Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards 2016.
The outdoor activity centre in Bruton scooped the Sustainable Tourism Award sponsored by Triados (www.triodos.co.uk).
All the contenders went through a rigorous three-stage judging process, taking into account websites, reviews, social media, visits by industry ‘mystery visitors’ and finally a judging panel.
They fought off stiff competition to win gold from Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm in Wraxall (silver), Folly Farm, Bristol (bronze) and Brean Leisure Park, Brean Sands (highly commended).
Mill on Brue director Tricia Rawlingson-Plant picked up the gong at the awards ceremony at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House.
“We are delighted and very proud to win this award,” said Tricia.
“Sustainability is very important to us here at Mill on the Brue.”
Mill on the Brue will now be entered into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards in February 2017, with eligible finalists also considered for the national Visit England Awards later in 2017.
