Activity Instructors

We are now looking for outstanding, enthusiastic, energetic and inspiring Instructors for our 2022 season.

Mill on the Brue is an award winning family run Outdoor Activity Centre in Somerset with a strong environmental ethos. The Centre provides residential and day courses with an experiential learning focus. We want you to get satisfaction and develop in your role, so you will work with the same group throughout their stay, building relationships and delivering a wide range of activities each week.

We work mostly with primary school groups with a learning focus. In addition there is the occasional adult group too.

During the summer have six weeks of summer camps for unaccompanied children which are focused on fun which provides a great change  of pace.

Ideally you will have some previous instructional, teaching or coaching experience and BCU Paddlesport Instructor or UKCC/BCU L1, bushcraft, climbing and high ropes experience and qualifications will also be an advantage, plus a current first aid certificate.

There will be regular training opportunities and support in gaining NGB awards.

In previous years our Instructors gained qualifications in First Aid, Orienteering, the Climbing Wall Award, Hill and Moorland and a Bushcraft training course.

Head Housekeeper

Mill on the Brue is looking for an experienced and capable person to lead our Housekeeping team.

Responsibilities will include overseeing and assisting with all housekeeping duties including changeovers, laundry and cleaning of all buildings to a high standard. The role will also be responsible for team rota's, ordering and ensuring the high standard customers expect.

Candidates must be able to cope with a busy role on a hilly site and lots of stairs.

Start date: to be negotiated

Contract: until end November with the potential to become permanent

Salary: £22,500

Hours: 40 per week usually Monday to Friday though some weekend working is expected
