1. Assistant Housekeeper

We are looking for a dynamic and organised person to help lead our Housekeeping team.

Mill on the Brue is an innovative family run Outdoor Activity Centre in Somerset with a strong environmental ethos. Established in 1982, the Centre provides residential and day courses for schools, youth and student groups, and summer camps for unaccompanied children. We also host events and functions throughout the year, including weddings and parties.

The Assistant Housekeeper will help to ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the centre and provide exceptional customer service for all of our guests. The role will oversee front of house during mealtimes to ensure an efficient and organised service.

You must have previous housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospitality or educational setting. You will need to be comfortable communicating with both adults and young people and be willing to go the extra mile.

You will work an average of 36 hours per week with occasional weekend shifts. Typically, the morning shift is 7.30am until approx. 3.30pm and the evening shift noon until approx. 8.00pm.

Salary - £16,623.36 plus pension contribution and free meals whilst at work

The Kitchen Porter/Assistant will help ensure that the kitchen runs smoothly and ensure a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen.  You will work a minimum of 28 hours per week, predominantly Monday - Thursday, 12.30pm - 8.15pm and some weekends.  Lunches will be provided.

2. Household Cleaners

We are looking for enthusiastic staff to assist our housekeeping team.  We can offer positions to people seeking either part time or full time work.  This is a fixed term contract until the 26th October 2020.

3) 2020 Instructors

We are looking for additional Instructors for the 2020 season.

We want you to get satisfaction and develop in your role, so you will work with the same group throughout their stay, building relationships and delivering a wide range of activities each week.

We will reward you for your loyalty and hard work with regular training opportunities and support in gaining NGB awards.

Ideally you will have some previous instructional, teaching or coaching experience and British Canoeing Paddlesport Instructor.

4) WWOOF’s (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms)

WWOOF is a world wide exchange network where bed, board and practical experience are given in return for help on organic farms. WWOOF provides excellent opportunities for organic training, changing to a rural life, cultural exchange and being part of the organic movement. As part of our membership with WWOOF, we are offering WWOOF posts here at Mill on the Brue. In exchange for your help in working in our vegetable and flower gardens, we provide you with comfortable and warm accommodation with delicious meals, full board and a variety of practical experiences. Stays of varied length are possible.

You can experience cultural exchange, eco-friendly gardening and being part of our environmental movement as well as social interaction with other young members of staff who also live on-site. If you are interested in a fun and rewarding time please get in touch for more details.

Dates available now until the end of November. You do have to be WWOOF member to volunteer.
